How does Presentation graphics software differ from multimedia authoring software ? give me an example of a practical application of each..thank you

Our church has used Powerpoint for years. Now we're looking to upgrade to a more user-friendly, powerful, media-friendly presentation software. For example, it should be able to cue up videos, have text-over video, have drag-&-drop, easily navigated menu, thorough help files, an alert system, edit during presentation, export or save as files in different formats, and import Powerpoint files. . I've been looking for a little bit, but I'd love to hear what other churches are using and why they think it's the best. Also, if you could provide links or review links of the software that would be excellent! O.K., for those of you who may be a little confused here. This is software used during the church service to display announcements, songs, sermon notes, video clips, etc. I know how to do a google search and I don't need video editing software. Please, those of you who actually work with church software or know what I'm talking about respond.

I am looking for a free to use presentation software that collects a set of photographs and displays them one by one - maybe with a 5-6 second delay for each - in a nice attractive manner. No...not the way Powerpoint does it...something a little more fancy in terms of effects etc.

I need a simulation software for a presentation because I want to explain about war strategies, but I can't find any, little help?
